Ordinary membership is available for adults over the age of 18 years; Junior membership for those below 18

Prospective members should apply on APPLICATION FORMS that may be obtained from the Society's Head Office on any working day (till 12.30 pm on Saturday). They are also available during the Monthly Members' Meetings on the first Thursday of every month at 6.00 pm at the Sri Lanka Association for the Advancement of Science, Vidya Mawatha, Colombo 7.

The application should be proposed and seconded by members of the Society of at least one year's standing. If you do not know any members, come and meet the office bearers at the Head Office or at a meeting.

Ordinary members with 5 years continuous paid membership may become Life Members on payment of a fee of Rs 25,000/-. They are exempt from annual subscriptions thereafter.

Membership Entitles You To The Following Privileges

  1. Free subscription to the Society's English language publication Loris (June and December) or the Sinhala language Warana (indicate your preference in the box overleaf), newsletters etc. Junior members are entitled to Warana only.
  2. Use of the Society's reference library at the Headquarters.
  3. From the second year of membership, members and their guests are entitled to use the Society's bungalows at Yala (Palatupana), Uda Walawe and Wilpattu.
  4. Participation at the Society's meetings, discussions, field excursions etc. and also to serve on the Society's committees.

Junior members are not entitled to vote at any meeting, hold office or make bungalow reservations. They are entitled to receive the Society's Sinhala language publication Warana or to purchase the English language publication Loris at a concessionary rate.

Upon reaching the age of 18, they cease to be members of the Society but are eligible to apply for Ordinary Membership.

Your membership helps the Society in its efforts to conserve Sri Lanka's Wildlife and its natural habitats and promote conservation interests in pursuance of its objects.
